UP TO NO GOOD

We are still alive and kickin', just busy and the babies haven't even started crawling yet!!...I know, "Slow Children at play" I'll bet they crawl within a couple weeks though. We have been having fun and loving life. Here's a shot of what we've been up to.
Lexi : Just because she is so darn cute..... Jacks 2nd hair cut...a real chop this time. I'm surprise it worked as well as it did with a baby trying to grab the scissors and looking up and down and all around. I just grabbed sections and snipped!
We've also introduced the babies to some new yummy foods like Black Licorice (he,he) and Oranges (sour)

Lexi can feed herself her own bottle now. Jack is still struggling a little.

CAUGHT IN THE ACT!!

The Sock Thief! This kid constantly takes his socks off...(and Lexi's, if they are sitting by each other)...and they end up in his mouth getting munged to death. He shoves the ends in and chews a while while he plays with other toys. He wears alot of mis-matches socks because one always ends up soaking wet. Those two bottom teeth are getting a workout...Yep, two bottom teeth in the last 2 weeks, hopefully the nights start getting a little better and the poor boy can sleep. (Don't mind the pink swing he's in.) Where's Lexi?? She loves to pull blankets up around her face and when they get stuck she blows air threw her nose like she is going to huff and puff and blow that blanket off. Pretty soon she grabs at it but its pretty darn cute!

Their favorite bath toy... the bucket that holds the toys. Poor little munchkins have had runny noses so bath bubbles of Vick's is a nightly ritual.

Caught "preventing wild fires!" Thanks Smokey (Melissa) for the cute shirts for the twins.

HALLOWEEN PICS

We had alot of fun this year for Halloween. The babies were spiders and we were supposed to be the web. It's all homemade so you might have to use your imagination a little! Can't wait 'till next year!

6 MONTHS~

Holy smokes, the babies are already 6 months old!! Lexi is rolling over and I really had to be quick with the camera before she rolled off the couch!!This one is absolutely Lexi. We get this blank stare alot, more like she has to figure you out first before she decides to like you.

Can you just picture him saying "Hmm, you know, I'm not so sure about all of this"
Is this the same kid? What a mug! Look at those chipmunk cheeks. I think he's storing up for winter!!

WHICH BABY HAD FUN?

I've tried for 3 days to get video to upload to Blogger....no luck. You'll have to click the links below to YouTube instead.

The task here is to decide which baby had more fun... can you guess...

Lexi:

Jack:

I think I know which one had more fun....

Lexi is such a girl! and Jack is such a boy! I love it!! Lexi is very selective with her laughs and when we tickle her she grunts like she is so bugged and then sometimes she just lets out a big high-pitched, girly scream. Jack laughs when you just look at him funny.

TRICKS

The trick here is to actually get my hair done everyday. I recently cut a lot of hair off and darkened it so I look like I belong to my brown-haired family. Lexi's new trick is to see how many toes she can stick in her mouth. I used to paint her toenails but now I'm afraid the paint will end up getting sucked off. She really enjoys those toes!
Jack has been able to bear his weight on his legs for a while now and they are getting to the point where they can stabalize themselves so he loves to stand and really even hates to sit. Tyler wanted me to say that we walked into their room to this sight but I can't lie...I'm off to the side where I've just positioned Jack ever so carefully and am ready to catch him as he goes down in about 2 seconds

HAIR CUTS

Most parents would kill for thier babies to have any hair at all. Mine just got their first hair cuts at 4 months!!

Lexi's 'right-side-a-little-longer." You can see the straggles over her ear.
Before:
After:As you can see, her left side doesn't need any help. She's just about bald - accomplished that one on her own.:0)

Jack's rat-tails were just out of control.
Before:
After:
(no, I didn't do the bald patch.) I can't wait until these munchkins can sit up so they don't rub so much.

WHY...

CAN'T...
BOTH...

BABIES....
SMILE AT THE SAME TIME??
And as you can see, we couldn't even get Lexi to smile on the same day in the same outfit.
We took the kiddos to the fair in those adorable hats and can I tell you how many people asked what booth we bought them at. I was so proud to say..."sorry, they are one of a kind, one of my bestest, most talented friends (Erin and her mom Bonnie) made them. I was so happy to see they finally fit too. Getting so big!!

MMMM...SQUASH

We went to the Dr. and the Dr. said....
time to start solids!! mmm. They just about choked the first time. They didn't know what to think or do. Jack opens his mouth for the spoon but once the food goes in, out comes the tongue and most of the food. Lexi wont open her mouth but once you squeeze it in there, she'll actually swallow most of it.

Poor munchkins had to get the 2nd dose of shots. They did much better this time, not so sore afterwards. The babies have just about doubled in weight since birth. Lexi is 12 lbs 8 oz and in the 68% for length and Jack is 12 lbs 1 oz and only in the 5% for length. They are both trying their darndest to sit up and are swatting at and grabbing for toys. So fun to see the development.

4 MONTHS!!

GROSS!!!

Friday was a gross day. First, I walk into this....
Jack is spitty anyway but this was just nasty. Don't get me wrong, he's had plenty of other bad spit ups and he soaks his shirts and it gets stuck in his hair. Boys are gross.

Then, that afternoon, I was putting Lexi in the stroller and when I pulled my hand out it was covered in yuck. I thought "oh no, she's had a blow-out" so I picked her back up but the yuck was just on my hand and a spot on her lower leg. It took me a couple seconds to figure out that a bird had just pooped on me!! SICK!!

Not to worry, there was more. That evening we were bathing the kids and Jack decided to 'drop the kids off at the pool'...he pooped in the tub. EWWW!

I'm sure I'll have many more disgusting days when they figure out they can smear the poop on the crib or when they pick their nose and wipe it on the walls and all the other fun things that come with raising kids. Things that only kids can think to do. And I've got two that can share in the naughtiness together. Thank goodness for running water, soap, wipes, and hand sanitizer.

THE EASY LIFE

Can you get any more relaxed? Usually the blankets are still hooked around their fingers and up over half their faces when I walk in to check on them and find they've wiggled out of thier swaddle. They've got to have those hands up and out!

Story time got boring so naps on demand any time, any place sounded good.

Hey, your hogging all the hot water!

Jack still loves the bath and chills most of the time. As soon as you put Lexi in the water she acts like her breath is taken away but relaxes a little. Then she kicks and wiggles, can't tell if she is excited kicking or 'get me out of here' kicking. This was a one time shot with both in there, usually one is in the swing to the side waiting their turn. My kids will learn patience and how to share whether they like it or not, mom's only got two hands and they are getting too big to hold at the same time.

GROWING UP

The babies are 3 months old today~ man, time goes fast when you're having fun! They've kept most their hair....I say most because Lexi seems to be loosing some on her left side so the other side is longer and thicker but as my brother says "Right side little longer" is the cool thing to do since he is trying to sport the same look. To mask some of the wacky hair, we made bows. Ok, my sister made the bows, I just hot glued some flowers and buttons. I love the Dragonfly and Butterfly!

Here, Lexi is also sporting one of the cool one's my sister did. My girl is no princess!!
3 Months also means, they are sleeping in their own room now. It was a sad night when we put them in there. I got up about 6 times to make sure they were okay. I still put them together in the same crib. Another sad day will be when they are too big to share.

My sister is awesome!

My sister and her sister in law threw the COOLEST Eclipse Party ever!
Last year for New Moon, my sister traveled up to Pocatello to go to the party here and then had the thought "I can do way better than that"... she did~~
Here is a photo of what was included in our goodie bag:
Team Edward: Roll-on Sparkles for our glittering skin ~ "A kiss from Edward" chapstick, ice cold on your lips, mmm. ~ "Edwards Symphony" chocolate bar ~ Type O negative blood, (red Kool-Aid)
Team Jacob: A steamy rice pack for comfort on cold nights ~ "Thirsty" waterbottle with a pic of all the wolves...shirtless, mmm ~ "Imprinted" tattoos with a paw print.
We all got our own "Newborn Beginning" story written by our party planners, very cool, a bookmark and place setting with quotes from the book. We also played a game and the winners got Emmets Bear kill (trail mix with Teddy Grahams) the loosers got the Leftovers (trail mix with Scooby Doo bones). They also designed shirts that were awesome! We had a lot of people ask us where we got them because they were so awesome. They did such a great job and made the movie and the night so much more enjoyable! Can't wait 'till next time!!

8 IS GREAT!

8 WEEKS OLD!
Eight weeks has brought all kinds of good news. The babies have slept through the night multiple times now and if they do get up, it's just once and then we all go right back to sleep for some much needed, much missed sleep. The whole family slept in until 10 am on Saturday!

Eight weeks brought new outfits. I'm now able to fit them into the clothes marked 0-3 month with out drowning them. No more newborn!
And the biggest news yet....
Lexi has moved up to the 1-2 size diapers!! Jack isn't too far behind, in fact, it might be sooner than later since he's wet through 3 sets of clothes in the last 24 hours. So proud of our little beanpoles.

BLESSINGS

We blessed the twins on Sunday June 6. I'm just now getting around to the post...(sorry Grandma's). It was such a great day. Everybody from Tylers family and all but one person (you know who you are :0)...I'll forgive you...) from my family was able to come. Tyler gave each child their own personal blessing and of course I cried through both of them. Thank you to all who came to support us and be with us on this day. Thanks Aunt Peggy for the gorgeous white blankets that were a perfect compliment to the day. Thanks to all who helped with holding and feeding and loving us all.

BATH TIME GONE WRONG...

Our babies love the bath but what mom and dad do after is a different story. This is after Lexi saw what we'd done with her hair.

Jack just didn't have words to describe his horror at his afro.
