FIRST SNOW

Lexi 'rolling' down the hill. She only made it about 2 feet before she went sideways into the weeds.
Jack is eating the snow...surprise, surprise!
and mowing the snow

CATCHING UP...

We had a blast tubing with the cousins again this summer. They all fit on one tube and LOVED it!

Jack couldn't get enough of the tractors at the Fair this year. I think he played in this one for 15 mintues. He must be a farm boy down deep inside!

We also had a fun day with Uncle Jas in West Yellowstone. We timed Old Faithful perfectly and only waited about 5 minutes until she blew her top! And you can't not love the stinky "paintpots." Even Lexi kept saying "ew, stinky garbage" :0)

ANYTHING WITH 4 WHEELS

Monster Trucks are the newest cool toy at our house and I figured they be great to take camping last weekend. The kids had a blast driving them on the rocks and through the water puddles right by our camp. The same water that they may or may not have gotten in their mouths which may or may not have caused Lexi to have the runs for the past 4 days... yuck.

They couldn't get enough of the 4 Wheelers either. I think we drove around camp about 20 times. They were content just sitting on them and pretending to drive while I made dinner too. It was beautiful weather and Jack and Lexi got to spend a weekend with Grandma and Grandpa before they leave on their mission.

SERIOUSLY!?

How do little boys know how to be little boys at such a young age?! Green Playdough was just too temping to just play with. Putting in our nose seemed like the most logical place for it!

SUMMER CAMPING TRIP #1

We went to Wildhorse Campground for a couple days this week and did our first official camping trip of the summer. The kids were exploring junkies, going everywhere, jumping off every rock and root. Poking bugs, feeding chipmunks and the funnest thing, picking up pinecones and pine needles with the kitchen tongs.
Here we are warming up by the fire in the morning after a very brrrr--risk night.

MY GIRLY GIRL

Jack and Daddy had already gone to church and while I was getting ready, Lexi got in my closet and put my boot on and LOVED it clicking on the tile, even though it went up to her buns, what can I say, this girl loves "sthooths" Thats my Lexi and her lisp saying "shoes" . And look at those eyes, they match that sweater perfect!

And what more could a girl need. She's got her Kinky (binky) her Bankey (blanket), her Pincesth (Princess Car) and her Pitty Sthoths (Pretty Shoes). Oy, I'm in for it when she turns 16, or 8 or 3, she is a handful of fun and drama.

That's what 2 year olds are made of...

My 2 kiddos turned 2!! I decided to "go all out" which in my book is a couple of balloons, some fruit dip and pasta salad. I did however summon my "Food Network Cake Challenger" and made Fondant for the cakes. It took me 3 hours to do two little 8" cakes! I would fail miserably if I was asked to do a 4 foot cake. The theme of the party was "Snips and Snails and Puppy Dog Tails, that's what little boys are made of." "Sugar and Spice and Everything Nice, that's what little girls are made of." We had Puppy Dog Tails (Twisty Cheetos) - Puppy Chow Chex Mix - Pixy Stix - Cinnamon Spice Bears.
Presents, presents and more presents. Jack got his "ba-ball" hoop which he about blew with excitement over. Lexi got her Diva Princess dress up quota filled for the year with shoes, jewels, tutu's and purses. And what would Jack do without a new truck? Clothes, books, movies, balls, double the gifts, double the mess and double the Thanks to everyone! We had a blast!
Lexi had another meltdown for this birthday too. Last year she cried through most of the party and then burned her finger on the candle. This year I think she got a little overwhelmed with all the presents and returned to meltdown mode right before the cake cutting. The binky biting might also be her two year old molars coming in - someday I'll throw that binky away!

"KINKIES"

We had visitors at our house last week, the cousins!! I loved it because they entertained my kids all day long! I barely saw my children. But today, (the next Monday) they are wanting me to have as much energy as they had but I just can't keep up.
We gave them Ring Pops and Lexi just sucked on it like her Binky...which she calls her "Kinky." Can't wait until the next visit!

HOPPY EASTER WEEKEND!

We spend a crazy weekend in Utah. It snowed 4 inches on Friday and we left Sunday at 73 degrees! The kids had a blast coloring eggs, themselves and each other, and the table. I think they dropped at least 3 eggs each.

We also had an Easter Egg Hunt and thanks to cousin Nicholas, Lexi got the motherload.
Jack found them in good hiding places too and of course wanted them to be balls so he could throw them, they didn't bouce very well, just popped open and lost the goodies inside.

NO MORE CRIBS!

After the last post with our escapee, we decided to just let him get out with no crashing to the floor. We removed the side rail and have had a few weeks of him coming in our room during the middle of the night still. Lexi usually does super and sleeps through the night but wakes up early and will come in and say "upee, upee" Which means she wants up on our bed.

We also had a huge wind storm for a couple days and after the first night of about 2 hours of sleep, we dediced to set up camp in the basement, literally. We set up the tent and the kids thought that was the coolest fort ever!

JAIL ESCAPE TUTORIAL

We had an unexpected visitor in our room at 3:30 last night. Didn't even know he was capable of such naughtiness...(ok, that part isn't true)... but he's never tried this before. So this morning I put him back in and watched the step by step escape. I love that he's in "jailbird" jammies too.

PLAYING

We got a play kitchen for the kids and after 2 1/2 hours of putting it together, they love it and I love cleaning up two kitchens everyday!! Oy. As you can see, the basket Jack is holding is empty. That is how he "plays", he dumps everything out and walks away. Not until I put it all back will he come "play" (dump everything out) again. He does love the "balls"... (pretend ice cream scoops, tomatoes and apples) that he just chucks everywhere.
They also got a block bag...and the blocks that come in it. I totally know why everyone says we should have just got them boxes and paper!

And last but not least, Daddy bought them this awesome gift! They are crazy on this thing and do their "tricks" and throw balls at each other. Good for getting out some pent up energy while we are stuck inside on 20 degree days.
